8. Code of Conduct
CLAW Corporation is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and consent-based environment for all participants. Attendees are expected to conduct themselves with integrity, awareness, and respect at all times.
Consent is the foundation of all interactions at CLAW. "No" means no. Silence or lack of resistance does not constitute consent. Consent must be informed, voluntary, and may be withdrawn at any time. Participants have the right and responsibility to stop unwanted behavior directed toward them.
CLAW does not tolerate behavior that compromises the safety, dignity, or well-being of others. Prohibited conduct includes predatory behavior, coercion, manipulation, harassment, intimidation, unwanted attention, discrimination, unwanted physical contact, and privacy violations, including outing individuals without consent.
Attendees are expected to respect the rights, boundaries, and experiences of others. Behavior that disrupts the event, creates an unsafe environment, or negatively impacts others will not be tolerated.
Maintaining a safe environment is a shared responsibility. Attendees are encouraged to communicate clearly and respectfully, look out for their own well-being and that of others, and report concerns or unsafe behavior to staff or volunteers.
All attendees must comply with venue policies, including those of the Hyatt Regency Columbus. Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated areas.
CLAW Corporation may take action in response to Code of Conduct violations, including verbal warning, removal from specific activities or areas, removal from the event without refund, revocation of hotel access in coordination with the venue, and involvement of security or law enforcement where appropriate.
Retaliation against anyone who reports concerns or participates in an investigation is prohibited. CLAW management and designated staff have final authority in interpreting and enforcing the Code of Conduct.
CLAW is a community built on respect, consent, and accountability. Participation is a privilege, not a right.
9. Harassment Policy
CLAW Corporation is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and harassment-free experience for attendees, staff, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, educators, board members, and all other participants.
CLAW is a sex-positive event that may include sexually explicit content. Participation in such an environment does not waive the requirement for consent, respect, or appropriate behavior.
Harassment of any kind is prohibited. Harassment includes discrimination or unfair treatment based on age, race, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, personal beliefs, fetish interests, religion, or other personal characteristics. It also includes unwanted physical contact, unwelcome sexual attention, harassing or non-consensual photography or recording, intimidation, threats, stalking, following, or behavior that creates a hostile, unsafe, or uncomfortable environment.
Participants must respect the boundaries of others at all times. If asked to stop behavior by another attendee, staff member, or volunteer, the individual must comply immediately. Failure to comply may result in enforcement action.
Individuals who experience or witness harassment are encouraged to disengage and report it immediately to any working volunteer, staff member, or designated CLAW representative. Reports will be escalated to the Incident Response Team or senior event leadership for review and action.
CLAW may respond to harassment with verbal warnings, removal from areas or activities, removal from the event without refund, revocation of hotel access in coordination with the Hyatt Regency Columbus, and involvement of venue security or law enforcement where appropriate.
Retaliation against anyone who reports harassment or participates in an investigation is prohibited. Reports should be made in good faith. Knowingly false, misleading, or malicious reports may be treated as policy violations.
10. Reporting and Incident Response
Incident reports may be filed on our website at https://www.clawinfo.org/info/media-and-communications/incident-reporting.
Attendees are encouraged to report behavior that feels unsafe, inappropriate, or in violation of CLAW policies, including behavior directly affecting them, behavior affecting others, or concerns about safety, consent, or policy violations.
Reports may be made by speaking with any working CLAW volunteer, staff member, or Dungeon Master; requesting a member of the Incident Response Team or event leadership; or submitting a report through the designated online reporting form. Any visible staff member or volunteer can help connect attendees with the appropriate team.
CLAW will respond to reports as promptly as possible. Response actions may include listening and gathering information, providing immediate support or separation of involved parties, escalating the report to the Incident Response Team or senior leadership, and taking appropriate action based on the situation.
CLAW will use reasonable judgment in determining next steps based on available information and participant safety.
CLAW will make reasonable efforts to maintain confidentiality. Information will be shared only with people who need to know in order to respond appropriately. Absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed where safety or legal obligations require disclosure.
Anonymous reports may be submitted, but anonymity may limit CLAW's ability to investigate or respond. Reports should be made in good faith. Knowingly false or malicious reports may be considered policy violations.
Retaliation against anyone who reports or participates in an investigation is prohibited. Attendees are expected to cooperate with CLAW staff and volunteers during incident reviews or investigations. Failure to cooperate may result in enforcement action.
If there is an immediate safety threat, attendees should contact event staff or venue security right away. In urgent situations, local emergency services may be contacted.
11. Alcohol and Drug Policy
CLAW Corporation maintains a zero-tolerance policy for illegal drugs and controlled substances not prescribed to the individual by a licensed medical provider. Possession, use, sale, or distribution of illegal substances is prohibited during the event.
Individuals found possessing, using, selling, or distributing illegal substances may be removed immediately without refund and may be reported to local authorities. CLAW may involve venue security or law enforcement as appropriate.
Alcohol may only be consumed in accordance with venue policies and applicable laws. Alcohol may only be served by authorized providers licensed for on-site consumption, including those operating within any event venue. Outside alcohol may be prohibited in certain event spaces under venue and local regulations.
Attendees who choose to consume alcohol must do so responsibly. Disruptive behavior, unsafe conduct, or behavior that negatively impacts the safety or experience of others may result in removal without refund.
CLAW may remove anyone who appears impaired to the extent that they pose a risk to themselves or others, regardless of the source of impairment.
CLAW encourages attendees to make informed and healthy choices. Individuals seeking support related to substance use may contact resources such as 855-DRUGFREE or appropriate local services.
12. Enforcement
CLAW Corporation is responsible for maintaining a safe and respectful environment. CLAW staff, volunteers, and designated leadership have authority to interpret and enforce event policies.
Failure to comply with CLAW policies may result in verbal warning, removal from a specific activity or space, removal from the event without refund, revocation of hotel access in coordination with the Hyatt Regency Columbus, referral to venue security, or referral to public safety or law enforcement.
CLAW may act immediately when necessary to protect participant safety and well-being, including removal without prior warning.
Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent removal from the event and revocation of participation privileges across all CLAW roles, including attendee, volunteer, vendor, educator, sponsor, or contractor.
Individuals whose participation has been revoked are prohibited from registering for or attending future CLAW events unless reinstated. Reinstatement, if considered, is at the sole discretion of CLAW Corporation leadership, including the Board of Directors and Planning Team.
Individuals removed due to policy violations are not entitled to refunds of registration fees, accommodations, or other event-related expenses.
Participants are expected to cooperate with staff and volunteers during investigations and incident reviews. Failure to cooperate may result in additional enforcement action.
CLAW Corporation reserves the right to take any action it deems appropriate based on the circumstances, even if not explicitly outlined in these policies. Enforcement decisions made by CLAW leadership are final.
13. Photo, Video, and Recording Policy
CLAW events take place in shared, public-facing, and semi-private environments where photography, video recording, audio recording, livestreaming, and other media capture may occur in certain authorized areas. Participation in CLAW does not waive an individual's right to privacy, discretion, or consent.
CLAW Corporation may authorize official photographers, videographers, and media representatives to capture images, video, audio, and other media during the event. Authorized personnel will be clearly identified with an official CLAW "Photographer" designation in addition to their event badge.
All photographs, video, audio, and other media captured by official CLAW photographers, videographers, or authorized media representatives are the property of CLAW Corporation unless otherwise agreed in writing. CLAW Corporation may use, publish, reproduce, edit, display, distribute, archive, and promote this media for social media, posters, advertising, promotional materials, websites, print materials, archival use, fundraising, reporting, publication, or other public-facing organizational purposes without compensation, notice, inspection, or approval by any attendee, participant, volunteer, vendor, presenter, sponsor, contractor, or other individual appearing in the media.
Attendees who do not want their image, likeness, voice, appearance, or identifiable presence captured or used by CLAW Corporation for social media, posters, advertising, promotional materials, websites, print materials, archival use, fundraising, reporting, publication, or other public-facing organizational purposes must request and wear a clearly visible "No Photo" lanyard or identifier at check-in.
By attending the event without wearing a clearly visible "No Photo" lanyard or identifier, the attendee acknowledges and agrees that they may be photographed, recorded, or otherwise captured in official CLAW media, and grants CLAW Corporation permission to use, publish, reproduce, edit, display, distribute, archive, and promote such media without compensation, notice, inspection, or approval.
The "No Photo" lanyard or identifier is the attendee's responsibility. It must be worn clearly and visibly at all times to be effective. Attendees using this option are responsible for making reasonable efforts to ensure the identifier remains visible in areas where photography or recording may occur.
If an attendee wearing a "No Photo" lanyard or identifier sees or believes that they are being photographed, recorded, or otherwise captured, the attendee is responsible for immediately notifying the photographer, videographer, nearby CLAW staff, or a volunteer so the concern can be addressed as promptly as possible.
CLAW Corporation will make reasonable efforts to honor visible "No Photo" lanyards or identifiers when capturing, selecting, editing, and publishing official event media. However, because CLAW events occur in active shared spaces, CLAW cannot guarantee that every incidental appearance, background image, crowd scene, third-party photo, third-party recording, or already-published image can be prevented, identified, removed, or recalled.
Attendees must obtain clear, affirmative consent before photographing, video recording, audio recording, livestreaming, or otherwise capturing any identifiable individual. If an individual declines, objects, withdraws consent, or indicates that they do not wish to be photographed or recorded, that decision must be respected immediately.
Photography, video recording, audio recording, livestreaming, or other media capture intended for sale, publication, commercial use, documentary use, press use, advertising, or mass distribution is prohibited without prior written authorization from CLAW Corporation.
Photography, video recording, audio recording, phones, livestreaming, and other media capture are prohibited in designated play spaces, private areas, changing areas, restrooms, and any other areas designated by CLAW Corporation as no-photo or no-recording areas unless explicitly authorized in writing by CLAW Corporation.
CLAW establishes and enforces this policy but cannot guarantee that all attendees, guests, hotel patrons, media representatives, or third parties will comply at all times. Violations of this policy may result in corrective action, removal from specific areas, removal from the event without refund, revocation of event privileges, and further enforcement under CLAW policies.
14. Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility
CLAW is primarily a men's event, however it is not a men-only event.
The term "men" is inclusive of trans men, and all male-identified spaces, including designated play areas, are inclusive of trans men.
All other event spaces are open and welcoming to individuals of all identities who engage respectfully and comply with event policies.
CLAW Corporation is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful community where participants feel welcomed, valued, and supported.
All individuals have inherent worth and the right to participate in CLAW events, provided they comply with event policies. CLAW welcomes and respects individuals regardless of race, color, ethnicity, age, ability, religion, body size, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
Discrimination, exclusion, or marginalization of any kind is not tolerated. This includes racism, sexism, ageism, classism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, or behavior or language that targets, demeans, or excludes others. Such conduct is subject to enforcement under the Code of Conduct and Harassment Policy.
CLAW spaces are grounded in respect and consent. All participants are expected to engage in a manner that supports a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
CLAW encourages participants to contribute to an inclusive environment by being mindful, respectful, and aware of the needs and experiences of others. Attendees are encouraged to communicate accessibility needs in advance where possible so reasonable accommodations may be considered.
15. Skills and Education Presenters
Prospective presenters must complete the full application, including a professional-quality photo suitable for publication, an individual biography, and class descriptions. Multi-person biographies are not permitted. Biographies are limited to 1,000 characters, and class descriptions are limited to 500 characters.
Educators may submit up to three (3) class proposals. The CLAW Education Selection Committee will review submissions and select classes based on content quality, relevance, and programming needs. CLAW may select one or more submitted classes, decline any submission, or schedule a class more than once to accommodate demand.
CLAW may edit submitted biographies and class descriptions for clarity, grammar, spelling, length, and consistency. No changes to approved bios or class descriptions will be accepted within thirty (30) days of the event.
Submissions must be received by the published deadline. Early submission is encouraged.
Approved presenters will receive one (1) complimentary CLAW Attendee Package. Registration instructions will be provided upon acceptance. Presenters submitting by an early deadline should not register in advance solely to secure early pricing. If not selected, CLAW may provide access to a discounted registration rate.
CLAW does not cover presenter travel, lodging, or meal expenses. Presenters may be eligible for hospitality benefits, including access to Volunteer Hospitality and applicable meal programs, as determined by CLAW Corporation.
CLAW will provide standard presentation equipment, such as a projector and screen or equivalent display capability. Presenters are responsible for their own laptops, devices, adapters, and cables.
Skills and Education sessions may be held at the host hotel or other designated venues and are open to all registered attendees.
Classes may not be recorded, filmed, or broadcast without prior written approval from CLAW Corporation. Requests must be submitted to the Skills and Education Coordinator in advance.
Presenters must maintain a professional, respectful, and consent-based environment. Demonstrations and interactions must be consensual and appropriate. Presenters must respect attendee boundaries and comply with all CLAW policies, including the Code of Conduct, Harassment Policy, and Photo Policy.
Presenters are solely responsible for the accuracy, safety, and appropriateness of their content. CLAW does not endorse or guarantee presented content and is not liable for outcomes resulting from participation in educational sessions.
CLAW may review and vet presenter applications to ensure alignment with event standards and community expectations. By applying, presenters affirm that they are not legally prohibited from participating, have not engaged in conduct that would pose a risk to attendees or the community, and will comply with applicable laws and CLAW policies.
CLAW may deny or revoke presenter participation at its sole discretion. Presenters unable to fulfill commitments must notify CLAW as soon as possible. Presenter substitutions or significant class content changes require prior approval. Failure to present an approved session without notice may result in loss of benefits and affect future eligibility.
16. Kinky Art Show Artist Terms and Conditions
There is no fee to apply for the Kinky Art Show. Selection of artists and artwork is at the sole discretion of CLAW Corporation.
Accepted artwork is offered on a consignment basis. Artists receive seventy percent (70%) of the final sale price of each piece sold.
