Answer

Volunteers on average work 8-10 hours or two 4-5 hour shifts; however, some shifts are longer or shorter than that. We try to do our best to make it a total of 8 hours but due to shift demands it's not always possible.

Answer

Once you have filled out your volunteer questionnaire, you will be assigned shift. You can expect to receive these a month or more prior to CLAW. If you are registering later, then your shifts should arrive the week before CLAW. Scheduling can be changed without prior notice due to event requirements changing.

Answer

Shifts are designed by the department coordinator and the volunteer coordinator. The department coordinator supplies the volunteer coordinator with their requirements for the weekend and the volunteer coordinator designs a grid comprised of the times and the number of volunteers needed in those areas.

Answer

The volunteer survey will help the volunteer department find a suitable spot for you to volunteer. We want to encourage volunteering in areas where your skills will be best suited. We find that the volunteer experience is at its best when you are doing a job that is suited to your skill sets as well as what we need to make the event run effectively. If you choose not to fill in the survey, you will still get to volunteer, but your task may not be as suited to you as if you did fill out the survey. We want CLAW to be a great experience all around, and this includes your volunteer hours.

Answer

Deposits will be processed a few weeks after CLAW concludes. Due to banking rules and regulations, some refunds will have to be processed by check, which will take longer than the credit card refunds.
