Resourcing and Trauma Relief

Saturday 1:45 PM - 2:45 PM

Topic area: Health / Mental Health

Prior consent and unwanted sexual violations engage the limbic system and can create hypervigilance and sensory sensitivity to sexual or "cruisy" situations. Mindfulness, imagination and bi-lateral stimulation can and does create new neural pathways and aids in neutralizing the effects of historical violation on current experience.
This class will examine the effects of Trauma/trauma and its impact on our brains and reactivity. Bi-lateral stimulation (a core component of EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a therapy which has been clinically proven to ameliorate the effects trauma) will be utilized to provide attendees with resources to boost confidence, calm the body on a deep, physiological level, and to respond better to stress.
